AL WATHBA NEW YEAR CYCLE RACE 2024
Get ready to wrap up 2024 in style with the Burjeel Al Wathba New Year’s Cycle Race on December 29th. Whether you're an experienced cyclist or just looking for a fun community event to kickstart the holiday season, this race has something for everyone. Bring your friends, family, and fellow cyclists for a morning of fast-paced action, good vibes, and a whole lot of fun!
Ride Options:
120km Al Wathba Grind | Take on the ultimate test with 4 laps of the scenic 30km loop! This is for the seasoned riders who are looking to push their limits and finish 2024 with a strong, satisfying ride. Please note there is a cut off time of 3hrs 10min to be starting your last lap.
90km Al Wathba Long Course | For those who want to go the distance but don’t need the full 120km, the 90km Long Course will take you through the beautiful Al Wathba desert. Perfect for riders seeking a solid challenge without the marathon length.
90km TT Solo Long Haul | Are you a solo speedster? The 90km Time Trial is your moment to shine! Ride at your own pace and race against the clock in this solo effort for those who love precision and power. ( Cut off Time of 3hrs 10min)
60km Al Wathba Burner | The 60km Burner is perfect for riders who want a solid workout with a dash of thrill. Tackle the loop with speed and excitement, finishing strong as you blaze around the track.
60km TT Speedster | For the time trial enthusiasts, this 60km solo race is all about the thrill of the clock. Ride fast and focused, with no one but the stopwatch to challenge you.
30km Al Wathba Short Course | Not quite up for the longer distances? The 30km Quick lap is the perfect option for those looking for a shorter but still exciting ride. Fast or steady, just keep your legs turning from start to finish.
30km TT Full Gas Lap | A true test of speed and endurance, the 30km TT Lightning Lap is your chance to ride solo and race against the clock on a shorter, high-intensity loop. Will you beat your personal best?
16km Junior Loop | The future stars of cycling take center stage on the Junior Loop! A fun, fast race for young riders to show off their skills, with 2 laps of the 8km track—perfect.
The event is all about bringing our cycling community together, so whether you're racing hard on the 120km loop or cheering on the juniors, there’s a place for you to be a part of the excitement. TT bikes are welcome, but remember, time trials are solo efforts! and not in amongst the road bikes.
And after you cross the finish line, don’t miss out on the post-race BBQ — included in your entry fee! It’s the perfect way to relax, celebrate your achievements, and catch up with fellow cyclists in a friendly, festive atmosphere.
